Pleasant Grove ISD is a learning organization committed to promoting continuous professional development and growth for every staff member. We believe the key to our students' success is to build capacity throughout the district and work collectively as a community of learners focused on student success. Professional development and growth comes through thoughtful, reflective and intentional learning experiences that are job-embedded, collaborative, and timely.

Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning
Pleasant Grove ISD uses the Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning as a framework for designing effective professional learning experiences that increase educator effectiveness and improve learning outcomes for all students.

  • Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students requires skillful leaders who develop capacity, advocate, and create support systems for professional learning.

  • Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students uses a variety of sources and types of student, educator, and system data to plan, assess, and evaluate professional learning.

​​​​​​​In Spring, 2023, Pleasant Grove ISD was named a model PLC district by Solution Tree. We believe that teachers learn best when working in teams to address the four critical questions:

  1. What do we want our students to know and be able to do?
  2. How will we know if each student has learned it? 
  3. How will we respond when some students do not learn?
  4. How will we extend the learning for students who have demonstrated proficiency?

These four questions are the basis for our district learning plan.
