Curriculum and Instruction
Pleasant Grove Independent School District has a history of excellence and continues to honor this legacy by providing an exemplary curriculum that is academically rich, engaging and relevant to today's learners. Curriculum is in a state of continuous study and revision, readily adaptable to meet the specific and diverse needs of each student while providing a foundation of knowledge, skills and experiences that support the development of the whole child.
Student learning objectives focus on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) that are also aligned to the Texas College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS). Pleasant Grove uses the Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative, or TCMPC, which provides scope and sequence, vertical alignment and supporting resources through the TEKS Resource System. This online curriculum management platform ensures every student receives high quality instruction that is aligned across grades, departments and campuses throughout the district.
Instructional practices at Pleasant Grove ISD reflect recognition of individual differences among students. Through analysis of district and state assessment data, teachers collaboratively plan and implement researched-based, student-centered learning experiences based on the needs of individual students. Pleasant Grove ISD believes every child can learn and strives for 100% of student mastery of 100% of the standards 100% of the time.
