CAR DROP OFF & PICK UP PROCEDURES
- Please follow the practices and procedures that have been set. Student safety is a number one priority. In order to maintain an efficient and safe drop-off and pick up area, we ask that all parents remain in their cars and hold tight to the following procedures.
- Pull all the way up to the cones if you are the first car in line.
- Students stay in the car until the UNLOAD sign is shown. This ensures that all cars have stopped moving for safety reasons.
- Once the UNLOAD sign is given, all students will exit their vehicles at the same time.
- Remain stopped until the MOVE FORWARD sign is given.
- The car in the left lane will exit to the left (in front of IS); the right lane will exit to the right (behind the central administration building).
- Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:15 am.
-
AFTERNOON DISMISSAL
The school day ends at 3:25 pm, and students will transition to their dismissal location at this time. To ensure that dismissal runs smoothly, be sure to update your child’s after school dismissal location on PikMyKid.
- Any transportation change must be made in the PikMyKid app by 2:10 pm.
- Your child’s PikMyKid number should be displayed in your front windshield.
- All parents must remain in their vehicle at all times.
- Cars will pull all the way up, and students will be allowed to load once the LOAD sign is displayed.
There is no supervision for students after 3:45 pm. All students must be picked up before this time. If you arrive after 3:45 pm, you must come in and sign your student out.
-
BUS INFORMATION
Buses are available for in-district students only. Students are expected to follow all bus rules and procedures to ensure a safe arrival home. Bus rules will be posted and sent home to all students at the beginning of the year. Failure to follow these rules will result in disciplinary action.

ATTENDANCE
Students should be in the classroom by 7:45 ready to learn. If your child arrives after 7:45, they will receive a tardy slip in the front office to take to their teacher. If you arrive after 7:45, you will need to walk your child into the building and sign them in.
Official state attendance will be recorded at 9:20 am. If your child is not present at 9:20 am, they will be counted absent for the school day. Please see the full attendance policy on the PGISD website at www.pgisd.net. Please refer to the student handbook and board policy for complete explanation. -
