• To the Staff and Community of Pleasant Grove ISD,

The Board of Trustees of Pleasant Grove ISD would like to formally congratulate Dr. Jason Smith for being named the Lone Finalist for Texarkana College President/CEO. We are excited for this opportunity for Dr. Smith and his family, and wish him the best of luck in this new position.

The mission of Pleasant Grove Independent School District, in collaboration with the community, is to empower students through experiential learning to successfully navigate the opportunities of a competitive and complex world. We will continue to do this by supporting our students with highly-qualified staff and personnel. We take pride in being a STEAM- based district where every child matters and our teachers know every student by name. It is this culture that cultivates a spirit of learning and high-achievement recognized at local, state, and national levels.

These are exciting times at PGISD, and we are looking forward to what the future holds. Student enrollment is thriving, and we are about to begin construction on our new STEAM-based elementary school. The 2018 edition of our student newspaper, The Edge, was just named a Pacemaker Finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association. Lady Hawk Volleyball is continuing their winning streak by remaining undefeated in district, tennis just won their first district tournament of the season, and the State Champion Hawk Football team is about to start district play this week at Hawk Stadium. Finally, PGISD was just awarded straight A’s by TEA for Overall Performance. We strive to provide an outstanding experience for every student in every academic and extra-curricular area, and we welcome the opportunity to invite a new superintendent to join the bright future of Hawk Nation.
